AGRO-PARK 2011 - summary

Agro-Park Agricultural Fair was held in Lublin on 28-29 May 2011.
Nearly 100 exhibitors from Poland presented their products and services on the area of almost 3 thousand m2. During two days of the fair, the exhibition was visited by nearly 3.5 thousand farmers and their families.

Another edition of Agro-Park fair organised jointly by Miedzynarodowe Targi Poznanskie and Miedzynarodowe Targi Lubelskie attracted huge interest from both exhibitors and visitors.

Lubelszczyzna is a region where fruit farming is one of the most developed sectors. Not surprisingly, the number of soft fruit growers and producers participating in Agro-Park fair was large. Much attention was paid to the Fruit-farming Debate and an introductory lecture delivered by Prof. Eberhard Makosz, the President of the Society for Promotion of Dwarf Fruit Orchards. Professor Makosz talked about the last season in fruit farming and presented forecasts for the coming year.

On Saturday 28 May, there was held a meeting on Europe 2020 Strategy - looking for ways to overcome food sector growth barriers. The speeches were delivered by Ms Iwona Preciuk, President of the Management Board of the European Training Centre "EUREKA" Sp. z o.o., Mr Adam Wlodarczyk from the University of Life Sciences in Lublin and Ms Maria Uchman from Uchman Expertis Tax Advisory Office. The meeting was also attended by Izabela Byzdra - Director of the Lublin Agency WP, Andrzej Bienko- Director of the Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture, Ryszard Nowak- President of Lubelski Rynek Hurtowy.

The exhibitors presented, among others, farm and orchard tractors, machinery for planting and harvesting crops, equipment of livestock buildings, fodder, fertilisers, chemicals and products for agriculture and fruit farming.

Apart from viewing the exhibition and participation in the meetings, visitors could also take advantage of advice from the experts of the Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture and the Farmer's Social Security Fund in specially designed consulting - advisory services sections.

The exhibitors participated in the competitions for prestigious awards.  The jury awarded the Fair Award in in the Category "Agricultural Product of the Year" to Swimer company for a 5,000 L diesel tank.

In the same category the following companies were also awarded: Neptun Sp. z o.o. for AGROFALA fibre cement board and GRAVIT AGRO-POL S.A. for the 1470a JOHN DEERE combine harvester.

The Fair Award in the Category "Stand decoration and the form of the fair promotion" was granted to the company JAGODA JPS S.C.

Agro-Park fair has become a professional meeting of farmers in the region and every year the number of visitors is increasing.
